Testing services

An HIV test can be performed to test for antibodies that are produced as a result of exposure to the virus.  This is your best defense against further infection to other individuals and ensuring you receive treatment immediately.

Non-nominal testing can be performed at any clinic on Prince Edward Island (appointments may be required), your family doctor or outpatients at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

It is important to note that this testing is not 100% confidential.  Anonymous testing is available in Moncton, New Brunswick at the Moncton Sexual Health Centre. You can call 506-869-6907.

AIDS PEI will also assist you in making arrangements for an anonymous HIV or STI  test in Moncton. Just call our offices and we will call the centre to make arrangements.

Getting tested on PEI

Unfortunately, anonymous testing is not available on PEI.  You can still get tested through a process called non-nominal testing. Visit your family doctor to get an HIV or STI test.  They can test for syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhea, HIV, herpes and HPV.

Walk-in Clinics

You can also get tested at any walk-in clinic. Click here for clinic locations and times.
